Lady SpringWolf Receives Her Doctorate
By Nilla Foster
Ladysmith, Va - September 1, 2008
International author and teacher Rev. Vickie Carey (Lady
SpringWolf) of Ladysmith Virginia, has been awarded a Doctorate
of Divinity in Metaphysical Sciences from the University of Sedona.
The degree was conferred on August 26th, 2008 and is the culmination
of a long standing dream. "I have always wanted to enroll
in a formal degree program and work toward a Doctorate of Divinity"
said Rev. Carey. "That dream only grew stronger 20 years
ago when I began ministerial classes at the Community Chapel
of Wholistic Healing in Reston. The Chapel's founder Rev. Michelle
Lusson and many of it's teachers all held Doctorates. And one
teacher in particular Rev. Gloria Cousar, who received her degree
from the University of Metaphysics, was especially encouraging
to me personally."
Over her 20 plus years of spiritual training and service,
Rev. Carey has received many honors from spiritual organizations.
She has received a great many accolades from clients, students
and her peers. She freely offers her knowledge and years of wisdom
at Pagan's Path an online education website. "I'm very honored
and humbled that others find my ramblings helpful and enlightening."
she notes, "But the degree has been a personal goal for
sometime and I'm very excited about finally achieving that dream.
This was something I did for me."
Rev. Carey was licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as
a minister in 2002. She plans on renewing that license this year
under her new affiliation with the International Metaphysical
Ministry (I.M.M), the governing body of the University of Sedona.
In 1959, the I.M.M. joined Unity and Religious Science as one
of the major metaphysically oriented movements around the world.
That same year Dr. Paul Masters, founder of I.M.M. opened the
Institute of Parapsychology which has evolved into the University
of Metaphysics and the University of Sedona.
Her articles have been published in various spiritual magazines
around the world. Most recently the New Statesman magazine published
her article "From Childhood to Adulthood - A Pagan Tradition"
on April 28, 2008. She is currently working on a 3 book series
entitled "Pagan Metaphysics" which she hopes
to publish sometime in 2009 or 2010.
Through her new spiritual center, Spring's Haven in Ladysmith
Virginia, Rev. Carey plans on putting her new degree to good
use. Offering spiritual gatherings, ministerial services, pastoral
counseling, and extensive metaphysical and holistic educational
classes and seminars.
